Does this sound familiar? You have spent hours in a hit exchange, you have clicked until your fingers have hurt so much you just want to give up. There is absolutely no 'quick' way to succeed online, that does not mean you can't make a quick buck or two, but anything of substance takes time to build.... Step 1 Build Your List! Stop everything you are promoting right now if there is no direct way to build a mailing list for yourself. Please do not take this lightly, you can save yourself years of agony and hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Trust me on this, I spent the first 3 years of my online 'career' with no contact list, no mailing list and no chance of building a solid network. The power of this is few simple, when you look at building a real business online, your contact list will be something that grows along with your career. It's the reason certain big name marketers online can send out one e-mail to their list and pull in thousands of dollars a day. It's really that simple, you must build a list. There are many creative ways to build a list, especially with the traffic exchanges and I Love Hits. Be sure to sit down and think about what your strengths are, what you can bring to the table and you will find your calling in this business. I do recommend aWeber for building a list. It's a very effective program and an absolute must for anyone looking to build a solid and prospering online business. Step 2 Here's a tool that you MUST HAVE if you expect your hit exchange promotions to do well. You NEED to track your hits. It's a simple concept, but so many people do not follow this step and then scratch their heads a few months down the road and ask themselves what went wrong. Simple, you did not know what has been working and what has not. When you track your hits, you will be able to tell which hit exchanges have delivered the most hits. Which hit exchanges have delivered the most unique hits. You can see what hour of the day was the busiest online. You are also able to track who clicked on what in your website. How many times have you seen the same website over and over again? Why is your affiliate link going to be different from the thousands of others that already grace the internet? You need to use splash pages. Splash pages are one of the best kept secrets in hit exchange advertising. They are in fact promoting a website that you may be an affiliate to but they are custom made pages with only a few sentences, that capture the viewer's attention and relay what the website is all about. A good splash page loads at lightning speed, has little or no graphics, and is no more than a paragraph of text. Here's an example of a splash page I created for I Love Hits, this page is responsible for almost 400 new members in 2 weeks alone. Check this out! As you can see, they are very simple pages but I will go over something that will blow you away right now. Have you ever heard of the term 'branding'? When you use these pages you are relying on the branding abilities of the affiliate program you are a member of. Let them advertise the brand name and let all the other affiliate flood the exchanges with these sites. Now if you create a splash page, that peaks someone's interest, you will have a much better return because they would have already heard of the program. Perhaps they did not understand the lengthy ad copy of your affiliate site, that's fine because you just caught their attention with a powerful headline in your splash page. This is such a huge tool to use for your hit exchange promotion, but can cost you zero dollars to do. Simply design a quick loading website, with a link to your affiliate site, and make it stand out. This is a term I use to explain the number of hit exchanges you can surf at one given time. The reality of hit exchange advertising is that multi-tabbed browsers have become the norm. These include Fire Fox, Crazy Browser, MYie2 and others. These programs have made surfing very easy for hit exchange users as they allow you to open multiple 'tabbed windows' within one web browser. This saves system resources, stops pop up windows and makes surfing very easy. It can be too easy and people are now opening dozens of sites at once. Quick question, how much attention do you think these people are giving your website? None or very little would be a good answer, and this is lowering traffic quality across the board. You need to treat each other's website like you want your to be treated. The No More Than Four campaign is designed to put the emphasis back on co-operation because when you strip away all the glitz and glamour of a hit exchange, that's all it is. Co-operation between two surfers. You look at my site, and I'll look at yours. This does not mean sign up for every single website you see, but give each one a glance. If you see something that you may be interested in, bookmark it, come back to it. Check out the site design of each site, see what you like and perhaps design a site from those design ideas. Perhaps email the owner of the website and see if you can network with him or her. There is so much you can gain from looking at each other's website, but more importantly you are showing respect to each other. Open no more than four tabs in your browser and ENJOY your surfing! The Right 'Attitude' Creating a business online takes time. No matter what some e-book or online money making scheme has told you, online business is a gradual process. At least a solid business is, I mean you can make money overnight, but you stand the chance of loosing it all the very next day. Offline business can take up to 3 years to develop, and online business is no different. It does happen faster online, but it still takes time to grow. With this in mind, you have to have the right attitude. You need to look at this as a long time process and do the 'grunt work' to get started. Clicking in the hit exchanges is what I would call grassroot / grunt work. When you first start your business, the first thing you need to do is establish a name for yourself. The best way to do this is get into different online business forums and become a part of a community. This DOES NOT mean to go into a forum and post your business opportunity, you should ease your way in. Take part in discussions, form opinions on certain issues and most of all, network with other forum members. Many members will greet you and welcome you to the forum. Another thing you can do to establish a name for yourself is brand your name. This can be done by adding your name to everything, in emails, on your websites, in forum posts. Your name is going to make you or break you, and you may as well get the word out that you are here to make money online. Let others know who you are! Building your contact list is critical, many 'guru's' refer to this as building your e-mail list. This is great and a must for anyone trying to make money online but you have to treat your contact list with respect. That is so crucial, and it means to NOT send them a daily e-mail about the latest and great scheme you have joined. People want to hear from you, if you have something of value to offer. Let them know you are there to answer any questions they may have and to provide support for them. They have trusted you by giving you their contact information, this is worth it's weight in gold, so don't abuse it. Build trust between your contact list and yourself, and they are much more likely to stay with you for the long run. And finally, don't be scared of hard work. With all the automation software on the market today and all the talk about creating an 'easy living' online, you can become very dependant on other people and their products. Do not stop working whatever business you are in. If it means to click and extra 30 minutes a day in the exchanges, do it. If it means to submit to one more safelist a day, do it. If it means answering all 25 e-mails before you go to sleep, do it. You will get so much more from this business if you do not shy away from hard work. Again, the only secret to this business is that there is no secret. Hard work is what will make you a living online! These are just a few useful tips and tricks that have helped me in my time working with these programs. Another thing, is you need to be creative. Creative advertising goes so far with hit exchanges and if you put your own flavor into something, you will be very pleased with the results. Hit exchanges are a wonderful tool to use, and this does take time.
