Why Are We Surfing The Traffic Exchanges?
No secret, I ‘live’ by two simple rules when I advertise in the traffic exchanges. I brand my name (business) and I build my list. It’s all part of my game plan to grow my business. You see, I feel the more your site gets seen, the more people trust and get to ‘know’ you. The more they do that, the better chance you have to get them into your circle of influence (your list). Then the real magic happens….The relationship has started!
This is all about relationships and how we grow them. My favorite author Jeffrey Gitomer has always maintained that;
‘All things being equal, people buy from people they like. And all things not being equal, people STILL buy from people they like…’
What does this mean in the internet marketing world and the traffic exchanges? You want to get people to first KNOW you and then second LIKE you.
This is NOT easy and it takes time. I practice traffic exchange brand awareness so that people constantly see my face and my businesses each and every day. I provide value in my seminars, my training, my blogs to get people to see ‘what I stand for’. This again is all part of the plan…To grow my business.
So what are we doing promoting generic affiliate pages? Get rich quick schemes? Money ‘games’? How does this help us in the long run?
I’ve got to say, after a decade of surfing the traffic exchanges I continue to be absolutely blown away at the lack of quality pages I see in rotation. Yes, yes I know, it’s easy to just throw up an affiliate page and surf for credits but this does not help your business growth.
Have a plan in place. If you want to follow the ‘Brand and Build’ model, by all means let me know and I’ll point you in the right direction but regardless of which path you choose, make sure every single ‘click’ you do helps your goals.
Slow and steady has won the race in my opinion, staying in front of people for years has helped me…It’s not the big red easy button, but it works!

I have been following your lead for quite some time and it is finally starting to pay off.. you are right in everything you do and say.. many should take your advice and learn the right way.. (just as I have).. Thank you so much for caring about us all and willing to share your business model with anyone who wants to learn…

Thank you so much Bud, very much appreciate the kind words. Slow and steady works, it’s just not the ’sexy big red button’ everyone expects.

Hi Jon, I’m a fairly new comer to the traffic exchange scene and I do think your views & comments will help all us newbies.. You are using the walk before you can run philosophy and its only human nature for most people to excpect too much too soon! Thanks for all your input its all appreciated!
Jon Olson
Great to have you on board Paul. Enjoy the ride and yes I agree completely. One thing I stress when I do seminars is that people are comfortable with all their decisions online. No rush, take your time and make smart moves =)

Hi Jon,
The only way to succeed on line, in my opinion, is to follow those that are. I value the information you provide and will continue to follow your lead. Doing so has started to make a difference.
On the light side. When I first saw the question “Why do we surf the traffic exchanges” I immediately thought: OCD!! LOL.

Very well said dude.
I’ll never forget how I felt when I first started reading your words about three and a half years ago. It was like I’d found my holy grail, what I was gonna do for the rest of my life!
Sounds over the top I know, but you know how I feel about TE’s
Without you, I would never have even dreamt of getting involved in TE’s and Traffic-Splash would never be what it is today.
Thanks Jon for all you’ve done to inspire me, and countless others over the last decade to use these funny little programs we all love.

Thanks man, appreciate the kind words. I keep doing this stuff just because I know there are new potential owners like you out there.

I am not sure what you are selling or talking about. Can you explain it to me with a little more detail?
