I spent a good hour in my local book store today and picked up a few new books to add to my little library. If you haven’t noticed, I’m a self-education fiend. I love to learn, I love to stick my nose into a good book and learn the in’s and out’s of how real marketing and business masters do their thing.
Below is 3 books that have helped me in my business. I cannot recommend these enough and if you get a chance to get to local bookstore, or even Amazon.com, be sure to pick these up. You will absolutely love them!
Customer Satisfaction Is Worthless, Customer Loyalty Is Priceless by Jeffrey Gitomer
While Jeffrey’s ‘Sales Bible’ is a must read in my opinion, this is his greatest book. This essentially slaps you in the face and wakes you up to the power and importance of giving your all to your customer. It’s a wonderful introduction to the world of Jeffrey Gitomer and once you read just one of his books, you’ll be hooked. All hail the King of Sales!
Purple Cow by Seth Godin
Another author who has a lot of books that could be considered classics, Purple Cow by Seth Godin teaches us how to separate from the masses and stick out like…Well, a purple cow. This is a masterpiece and a book I find myself reading over and over again. And to be honest, any book by Mr. Godin could be considered a masterpiece.
The 4 Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferriss
Warning: You MUST be in the right frame of mind to read this book. Otherwise, it will make you the laziest person on the internet….
All joking aside, this incredible read taught me the importance of setting up systems in my business, so that I can concentrate on other aspects of growing my income. Real world examples and some very funny commentary makes this one of my favorite books ever. Read with caution though =)

Yesterday I decided to send a mini-promotion to my list at Affiliate Funnel. I was pretty happy with the copy too. I thought I did a good job at crafting the email and it was one of my better promotions…
At least I thought.
I may have been doing this ‘marketing’ stuff for a decade but I’m kind of new when it comes to Clickbank. So I put the wrong ‘hop link’ in my emails when I was promoting Magic List Bot. Of course, my good friend Soren Jordansen pointed it out to me…A few hours after…And got a good laugh at my expense. Heck, I even laughed at myself when I had realized what I had done.
You know what though? There is a lesson that I learned. And that is double check your emails. Never mind the fact I was a bit slow when it came to Clickbank links and all, but if I would have re-read my email a few more times, I would have spotted the error. Instead, a proof read is all I did and well…Let’s just say Magic List Bot might have a few more sales this morning, without an affiliate, thanks to yours truly.
Folks, this is a prime example of why you NEVER let Jon Olson get a hold of any technical on your web site, promotions, or servers. I will mess it up…Sadly, I will mess it up!

Every few months, a bunch of abusive sites make their way into I Love Hits. Now it’s not rare for a site to slip through the cracks and mess up the surf sessions, we can accept that, it’s part of the business and once it’s reported, we get rid of it pretty quick. However this time it’s different…
Once and a while a bunch of sites get ‘mass’ added to the system and it takes our admin team hours every day to find the abusive sites and get rid of them. We will have to temporarily change how sites get added to I Love Hits for the next few weeks.
As of today, all Light Weight accounts must go through a site approval before the web site is released into rotation. All our Middle and Heavy Weight accounts will still have automatic approval and nothing will change for your accounts, but for Light Weight accounts, our admin team will get your sites approved for you…Very quickly too.
I know this sucks, and I know this isn’t the best news but we must protect out dedicated surfers. Please allow for some time to get your sites approved. We will make this a temporary change until the nasties leave our program and we can then again allow automatic approvals across the board.
I apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding with this current problem.
So it’s Friday and I decided to sit down for a nice little surf session. I have been clicking for about an hour and then see a traffic exchange that I was a member of, decided to start surfing and have been enjoying the experience…It’s a clean surf, well designed and very easy to use.
I figure, hey, let’s upgrade in this program but before I do, I wanted to see how many new members this traffic exchange has been generating lately. So I glance at my trusty ‘Rank Report’ at Affiliate Funnel, low and behold it’s not pulling in the members that I thought it was…Actually it’s pretty dismal.
Why do I care about new members? Why is this the ’stat’ that matters most to me?
Simple, the more new members that are coming into the program, the more exposure my site gets, the happier I know the members are (members joining, means someone likes this program and is promoting it) and overall, the system shows growth which is very important in my marketing.
I have maintained that the best results come from those that show their site consistently to the most members possible…New members joining a program helps my business grow because it’s more eye balls that get to see my sites and my brand.
All the other numbers for me, unique visits, hits per URL, flow, etc…All those are guides but new members joining is what I care the most about. And there is only one ‘ranking’ service that provides these numbers and that is Affiliate Funnel. Come see what you may be missing out on…
Clickbank Pirate was launched about an hour or so ago from the time I am writing this review, and of course the first sign that this program is going to be absolutely massive is the amount of traffic being sent to it right now…The server is running at full speed and right now, it’s hard to even get to the site…
Do not worry, things will smooth out and so far, from what I have heard, only an hour into launch and this thing has done HUGE numbers.
Regardless…Why do I think everyone should be using this system?

Yes, yes and yes…Sure Soren and Cindy are my buddies, and of course I will go to war for them anytime they need me. But I had the pleasure of seeing this idea being conceived (in the middle of the Caribbean sea no less) to being built in front of my eyes.
