It’s Sunday.
It’s the day of the week I like to sit in front of my computer and surf a lot. Sure, I surf throughout the week, but Sundays are my ’surf days’. I dunno why, just something I have liked to do since I started this madness a decade ago.
So in my travels today, I decided to type in ‘traffic exchange’ in Google and see what turned up. It’s not a surprise that Wikipedia came up first with their user generated article all about traffic exchanges.
I mean, it’s not a bad description, but what I have to laugh at is the comparisons traffic exchanges get to the auto surf scams. Amazing, I know it should come with the territory but for goodness sake, traffic exchange have been around for over 10 years now, even longer. Auto surfs started in 2002 or 2003. We’ve been around longer but of course, the label has been made…Auto surfs scammed people out of millions of dollars…Traffic exchanges continue to provide people with quality traffic and nowadays, decent commission payments.
Not sure if I’m the one to be editing that article at Wikipedia because if I got a hold of it, I’d get a bit angry. So if anyone reading this is a part of Wikipedia, be sure to run over there and give your input. Again, it’s not that it’s a bad description of traffic exchanges, it’s just not the press I think these programs deserve…

After 10 years plus, the traffic exchanges continue to grow and prosper….Let see where the future will take us!
It’s funny, being in this business for so many years I have seen it’s highs and it’s lows. I have seen claims of great wealth and heard the horror stories of thousands of would be marketers. Two things have remained the same, in my decade plus of being online and that has been the traffic exchanges and their older brother of free advertising, the safelists.
These two advertising methods have been slagged off, dragged through the mud, thrown against the wall and basically been picked on by the rest of the internet marketing world. When it comes to free advertising, the powers that be would love for you to think these methods are ‘untargeted’ and not effective and blah blah blah blah…
Here’s the kicker, just like any other form of advertising, the people who do the best with it, are the ones who use it properly. Just like the traffic exchanges, there is a wrong way to advertise in the safelists and there is a right way.
My advice, is to try the right way before making any judgments in anything you do online. Do not try any form of advertising without seeking out the experts in a certain field and studying how they do it, before you jump the gun and claim it as ineffective.
