The New I Love Hits Profile Pages

Here They Are…

It’s been a long time coming but the brand new feature I have been talking about finally got released at I Love Hits. So what? What’s the big deal?

For the first time in the history of this traffic exchange, we have created a way to not only spread your thoughts and messages around the ILH system, but also allowed members to link tot he most popular Web 2.0 networking sites on the internet.

That means links to such massive programs like Twitter, Facebook and Squidoo. Not only that, but you can link to your personal blog, or even make a post or two in your OWN BLOG at I Love Hits. That’s right, YOU control the content of your membership profile page. Another massive feature of these pages is the opportunity to send a message to various members of the ILH system. No more are you limited to sending private messages to only your downline, see someone’s profile page that interests you, send them a PM!

Want to take them for a test drive? Login here to your account and click on ‘Edit Profile’. You will then see a link to preview your Profile Page and also add the content you want.

Special note, be sure to get familiar with the sites like Twitter and Facebook, these are MASSIVE opportunities to brand your name and get your business seen in more places than just I Love Hits.

I really hope you enjoy them, and please let us know what you would like to see added / taken away. These are a work in progress and they will only be as good as the membership makes them. Enjoy!!!

Jon, What’s With All The 2.0 Stuff?

So with the release of the ILH Profile Pages, some folks might be asking how Jon Olson, the traffic exchange nut job, is so focused on building a 2.0 presence with I Love Hits. The reason is simple, it’s the future. X that, it’s not just the future, it’s the present!

You see, I do things VERY slow. From how I build my business, to how I plan my strategies, I have always taken my time and gone at a snails pace. The same can be said about embracing things like blogs, Twitter and facebook. Sure I am familiar with these social networking and user generated sites, but I did not implement them into my business right away. Big mistake!

I’m not saying I missed the boat, because these things are always changing and evolving, but I wish I did learn more about them sooner. So that’s why I wanted to get ILH members into the swing of things with the ‘Profile Pages’. While not as detailed a Word Press blog, the purpose of these things are to help brand your name and network with the 90,000 plus members within I Love Hits.

You can added your own content, your own social networking links, and so much more using these pages. Poke around and get familiar with them, because the potential is huge for the ILH Profile Pages.

It’s one small step towards getting a better presence online for not only I Love Hits, but for each and every member that embraces the power of the ’social network’. Happy ‘Profile Paging’!

    Jon,

What an awesome new feature! You are so quick to add new technology taking Traffic Exchanges to a whole new level. I imagine it won’t be long before all exchanges have a similar feature.

Good job keeping us on the bleeding edge!

    Hi Jon,

Just a question. Will there be a way to browse other member’s profile pages coming up?

If there already is a way to do that I must have missed it somewhere, I think that would be a very cool feature…

Already added my profile and made a short blog post.

    Love it Jon!

Yeah, the member directory is on the bottom of each profile page and we’ll be sure to add new ways to check out other members pages.

I just figured that out after poking around a bit more. Thanks for the reply.

    IDear Jon,

As always, you are way ahead of everyone. What a nice surprize to find this feature.

Ilove the new feature, but do have a couple of questions.

First, I could not locate a way to add my picture to my profile. Did I miss the link to do that?

Is this feature available to free members? Just want to be able to explain it to everyone.

I also noticed that when someone clicks on the join button, the refferal is not credited to me. I will be showing a large amount of people this page. Is this page more an internal feature? So In my lead in to take a look at it, would I have to give my referral link to get credit? Just wondering.

Please let me know. I want to get the word out, ASAP.

    Thanks

    Linda

Jon, this is a great addition to a great traffic exchange.

If you are considering new additions to the social networking links, I would like to suggest MyBlogLog.com.

When I entered my first blog post on the profile page, I tried using a standard anchor tag to link to my ILH affiliate page. It didn’t work as expected.

I didn’t see a way to correct the blog entry.

On a whim, I edited the first one that I’d posted (shown right below a blank form for a new entry) and saved it. The edit took effect and the first entry was revised.

This time, instead of an anchor link, I just posted the URL and it was converted into an active link.

Finally, when you have time, would it be possible for the “Join Now” link to be our affiliate link? I always like to refer new members to ILH.

The member’s profile page is a very good addition to the site and I’ve already enjoyed browsing other members in the Member Directory.

    Act on your dream!

Hey, Jon, this is a great new feature! I see the pages are fully SEO too! Way to go!

  11. Jon Olson

Thanks Linda, the picture can be added under Promotional Tools. But I will be sure to add a little message to make it clearer.

Also, it’s for every member, light, middle and heavy weight.

The link (join link) should have been programmed to credit the referral. I will get on that too.

    Hi Jon,

A great start with the Profile Pages, but here are a couple of things I would like to see added in:

    1. A better way to search the member directory will be needed. The current method is ok for now, but as more members use the Profile Pages just scrolling down through thousands of different names.

    2. A comments section on the Profile Pages would be cool, sort of like Twitter and Facebook have ways that people can leave you a quick message on your profile pages there.

    3. If you want to take this into a social networking/business networking direction and get better exposure for everyone you might want to consider the Tell-A-Friend feature similar to Twitter and Facebook. That is how these programs have been able to grow so quickly in such a short amount of time.

    Just some random thoughts Jon.

    Mike

  13. Michael Coursey

By the Tell-A-Friend feature I’m talking about the one that allows you to import the contact list from Hotmail, Yahoo, or Gmail.
