Your picture now is attached to the side of each ‘profile’ and it’s been thumbnailed to create a much more fluid look to it.

Creativity - And Why It Should Matter To You!

I got an invite today from a couple of traffic exchange owners and they let me in on a brand new program they will be launching in a few weeks. When I heard it was a new traffic exchange, it got me worried about what this thing could possibly bring ‘new’ to the table. Wow, I was blown away!

Here’s what they did…They used creativity to build their new program. They took a stock LJ Script (the same base script that I Love Hits is on) and completely edited it to fit their needs. The thing has some wonderful features that you wont find anywhere else and here’s the best part…It should show people what CAN be done when you use a little bit of creativity.

Great, how does this help you. Hopefully it gets you thinking about what you have at your disposal right now, in your marketing arsenal. Once you see what you have, try to find new ways to do the same thing. Maybe it’s a different design, maybe it’s a new headline, maybe it’s a complete make over. The main point is to do things differently!

There’s a wonderful book I like to read to help with creative thinking, it’s called ‘Thinker Toys’. This book has helped me so much in looking at a product or service and seeing what I can do with what I have to make it more interesting, make it stickier and more attractive to my members.

I’ve always been a big fan of sticking out from the crowd, and now more than ever I feel it’s one of the most important things you can do for your business, especially in the traffic exchanges!

This little tidbit is in response to my email a few days ago about the I Love Hits update:

“I am a traffic exchange owner and i would be willing to give you some free advertising on my site if you sign up as a member and then you can give me credits on your site in exchange. my website is (not giving them free publicity). Please check it out and let me know…”

So I checked the site out, hey, you never know who is sending emails to you right? What I saw was a basic Ventrino script, zero customization, grand total of just over 60 members. Oh yeah, and like 1200 credits to sign up, plus a 1:1 surf ratio. That’s a big warning sign if you are thinking about joining a new traffic exchange by the way.

O.k., not a problem, maybe they are new and I could help them out by suggesting they focus more on building their brand name in my traffic exchanges first. So I check their account at I Love Hits AND S.W.A.T. Traffic. I find no URLs added, never spent a dime on advertising their exchange, surfed a grand total of 12 sites in the lifetime of the account. What would you do?

You know the popular saying, those who want help, should help themselves first? This is a classic example. Want to get on the radar for possible JV’s? How about building your name and really showing to others that you are here for the long run. Far too many times, we see people come and go in this business and now more than ever it’s important to ‘create your own buzz’.

- We added almost 100 new members to the system this week alone. it’s been one of our better weeks at S.W.A.T. in recent months. This means 100 new sets of eye balls are looking at YOUR sites in the system. Make sure you have credits assigned to all your URLs for maximum exposure.

- The Captain Member seminar is tomorrow evening at 8 pm Eastern (-5 GMT). We have now started to record the sessions, so if you cannot make it, please log into the SWAT Traffic training room to download the recording and listen to them at your leisure. Here’s an example of my profile page that I created. It’s to showcase what you can do with these pages, but you are only limited by your creativity. There has been some wonderful pages that have been created and I can’t wait to see what the members create with them.

A few new features have been added this week, the ability to add BB Code to your post, so that you can add anchor text to your links and make words ‘clickable’. Also, with the layout, the picture and blog posts have become fore front while the ‘pitch’ for the pages has been placed at the bottom. This gives more focus on ‘you’ and less on the page itself.

And finally, your unique profile page links directly to your referral ID. We have placed a cookie in the site so that anyone that joins I Love Hits from the profile page will join your downline.

Brand New Affiliate Funnel Training

We’re really going to be focusing on some hardcore training at Affiliate Funnel from now on. We’ve got some big things planned for our brand new tutorials, ebooks, videos, audios and many more ways to give members the training they need at AF.

We’re also taking it one step further as each and every Monday evening we will be hosting an ‘Introduction to Affiliate Funnel’ seminar in our training room. This is created for one purpose, to give people weekly training on our system. We are getting hundreds of new members that join Affiliate Funnel every week and it can be very confusing.

What’s Important When Choosing A Traffic Exchange To Use? Interesting question, but this is something I always ask myself when using these programs. I love site design, I love dedicated ownership, I love innovative features but there is one thing that determines my interest in a traffic exchange and that is how many new members has an exchange brought in this week, last week, last month.

You see, these program grow by leaps and bounds but you would never know that because there are so many garbage programs out there. Combine that with the fact that only a handful of traffic exchanges will tell you how many new members they bring in, you can see that ignorance runs rampant in this business.

I have always let my members know how many members come through the doors every week in both SWAT Traffic and I Love Hits and while it’s not the most active traffic exchanges on the net, it does give you a good indication of how popular these exchanges are.

So why is this important? Simple, the more new people seeing your site, the better. Also, dedicated owners will motivate current and older members too to remain and get active, so this means new members coming in PLUS older members looking at your sites each and every week.

These programs can grow like weeds, but they just need a little bit of water to help them get started. So if an owner is telling you they are getting at least 50-100 new members a week in their program, chances are you are in very good hands!

Jon, What’s With All The 2.0 Stuff?

So with the release of the ILH Profile Pages, some folks might be asking how Jon Olson, the traffic exchange nut job, is so focused on building a 2.0 presence with I Love Hits. The reason is simple, it’s the future. X that, it’s not just the future, it’s the present!

You see, I do things VERY slow. From how I build my business, to how I plan my strategies, I have always taken my time and gone at a snails pace. The same can be said about embracing things like blogs, Twitter and facebook. Sure I am familiar with these social networking and user generated sites, but I did not implement them into my business right away. Big mistake!

I’m not saying I missed the boat, because these things are always changing and evolving, but I wish I did learn more about them sooner. So that’s why I wanted to get ILH members into the swing of things with the ‘Profile Pages’. While not as detailed a Word Press blog, the purpose of these things are to help brand your name and network with the 90,000 plus members within I Love Hits.

So here we are, a brand new layout and look for both SWAT Traffic and I Love Hits weekly updates. I have to admit this, a year ago, I would have never have dreamed of being on a blog for this. I do want to take a few minutes here to thank a couple of people, the first being Mike Paetzold for constantly telling me that this was the way to go. Folks, if you have not yet embraced this whole web 2.0 thing, you are missing out. It’s great and it is the new way to share ideas and thoughts. Thanks Mike for reminding me of that everyday for a year. It took some time, but I’m game now LOL

Next, Sean Lowery for first designing Hit Exchange News to be one of the most eye pleasing blogs I have ever seen, and next to come up with this gem. Sean is a genius. And I know he hears how good his designs are on a daily basis but folks, this is THE design guru in my opinion. The guy has got talent out the ying yang and is one of the nicest guys in this business!

And finally, to each and every member of I love Hits and S.W.A.T. Traffic! You guys and gals are the passion behind this business. Sure we all like to make money online but there is something very special about providing these services for you all. You make every single day worth it, and I don’t think I thank you guys enough. Why Should You Upgrade In S.W.A.T. Traffic?

I know, of course I’ll be biased here. It’s my traffic exchange and yes I do generate monthly income when people upgrade in my programs. However there is a method to my madness and if you have ever attended out weekly seminar, you will know what I am referring too.

I tailor made the Captain upgrade at S.W.A.T. to be a ‘must have’ upgrade because of the weekly seminar. You see, my network is my golden nugget! The people I know, the friends I have met, the business I do, is a direct result of my network. A couple of the attendees of the Captain meeting have told me in private and in various messages that they feel the Captain upgrade is the ‘must have’ upgrade in the traffic exchange industry. I could go on and on about the gems that get dropped but I really want to focus on the networking side of this. One of my favorite authors’ Jeffrey Gitomer has a quote that I live buy. He states;

How do you get people to like you? Simple, get in front of them…over and over and over and over and over again. Coming to the Captain meeting gets your name known and shown to dozens of traffic exchange surfers each and every week. Heck, stop by during non-meeting hours too to add even more to your name brand.

It’s one of the most simple tasks to do, yet only a handful seem to embrace it across the industry. You can take that first step, and I hope you take it with the help of the Captain upgrade. I know you will love it, and if you don’t please let me know how I can improve it!
